The OLU OWERRI YOUTH ASSEMBLY, formally “Coalition of Owerri Zonal Youth Associations” has concluded plans to roll out its 2018 roadmap aimed at restoring the dignity of the youths and furthering the interest of the senatorial zone. In an interview in Owerri, the President of the umbrella socio-cultural body said his new regime is committed to the unity and progress of the youth, geared towards having one strong voice for a common front for the realization collective interests as a Zone, especially, the Governor of Imo State of Owerri Zone extraction come 2019 irrespective of personal, partisan persuasions and interest.

Inaugurating the committee over the weekend, the President Samuel Nwokeocha thanked the members for accepting their nomination to serve on this liberation mandate. He told them that it is time to work, primarily for sustainable economic and human development of Owerri zone. He said “Youth is the age of greatness and ability in every nation, most populous and the strongest segment of the society. He said Imo State by JAMB analysis produces the highest number of graduates every year who roam along our cities in search of none existing white collar job, and Owerri zone remain the worst hit due to it’s inability to produce the Governor of the state”.

He also inaugurated members of Olu Owerri Youth Assembly business committee where he is the chairman with the task of developing a Bankable business plan to drive sustainable empowerment and reliable source of income for the youth Assembly.
